Supervision Training and Experience
I welcome enquiries for both face to face Supervision and Zoom Supervision sessions, or a mixture of both. This flexibility can be helpful with the challenges of winter travelling and maintaining regular supervision for rural and remote ministry practitioners.
Supervision qualification: CAIRANZ Certificate in Supervision, 2011 Supervision experience years: 14
Special interests: I have a passion for rural and remote ministry, and a keen desire to support those in paid and unpaid ministry in rural and remote contexts. Such pastoral and ministry workplaces can be exciting, challenging and innovative, but can also feel isolating and unsupported at times.
Approach to pastoral supervision
As a rural minister I recognized how important it was for me to have that objective eye, and keen observation of good supervision when working so independently at the coal face of ministry. In such a ministry environment, supervision can offer an opportunity to meet professionally with someone who is experienced in a journey of a similar nature and understands its joys and its pitfalls too.
Although I am now ordained, most of my working life was spent working in lay ministry, and I see a great need for professional supervision for those in non-ordained ministry and the mission field.=The first-hand appreciation of the value of this support led me to train as a pastoral supervisor to support others in ministry.
Although I am an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church I have spent my formative years in the Anglican and Lutheran Church traditions. I believe this helps me to be sensitive to the supervision journey of people ministering across a range of traditions.
