Supervision Training and Experience
I am an ecumenical Christian who was raised in the Catholic Church and am currently worshipping Jesus in the Presbyterian Church. I enjoy all expressions of faith.
I have a bachelors degree in social work, a spiritual direction certificate from SGM and a supervision certificate from CAIRA.
Currently, it is also my delight to work as a teacher aide. Most of my adult years centred around my 6 children, and volunteer work. My husband’s work as an ordained minister also influenced my work and has given me a unique perspective. Some of my volunteer work has included 2 years in Vanuatu at Talua Ministry Training Centre, children’s work and occasional preaching.
Approach to pastoral supervision
In supervision, confidentiality is of utmost importance. It needs to be a safe place to say all the things that ‘shouldn’t be said’. Things are usually not black and white. I invite working with the grey.
I aim to keep my agendas out of supervision. This happens when the supervisee is in charge of the topics discussed.
My role is to listen and enable open exploration in a contemplative way. All going well, God is able to direct, encourage and enjoy us both.
